 | I am originally from Chicago, IL and received a BS in Biochemistry and a BA in Biology from the University of Chicago. I worked in Dr Robert Haselkorn's lab with post-doc Piotr Gornicki to create a yeast strain that expressed human ACC2, which was used to screen a library of compounds to identify a potential inhibitor of ACC2. I did my honors thesis in Dr Bernard Roizman's lab, identifying and characterizing cellular interacting protein partners of the Us3 kinase of human herpesvirus 1. I am strongly considering focusing on interdisciplinary work with chemistry at Columbia, but I am excited about exploring several areas of research through my lab rotations.
Outside of lab work, I enjoy cooking and running, and try to travel whenever I can. |
