Congratulations to chemistry major Jason Pflueger, who
has been awarded an undergraduate summer research fellowship by the ACS
Division of Organic Chemistry. Jason will be working in the laboratory of
Professor Scott Snyder, where he will assist Prof. Snyder in synthesizing
unique natural products derived from resveratrol, a polyphenol found in red
wine that is believed to have interesting health benefits. Jason will
receive the fellowship award of $5,000 and have the opportunity to visit an
industrial campus at the end of the summer for a dinner, scientific talks, a
tour of the campus, and a poster session where the results of the summer
research projects of fellowship award winners will be presented. You can
read more about research in the Snyder lab on their
group website.
