Held Lecture Hall Dedicated at Barnard

he Julius S. Held Lecture Hall, named for the eminent art historian, now 92 years old, who taught at Barnard for 33 years, was dedicated Oct. 14. Virginia Bloedel Wright, a 1951 Barnard graduate and trustee, donated $600,000 toward the renovation to honor Held, who was her teacher and mentor. Speaking at the ceremony were Columbia art history professors David Freedberg and David Rosand, Barnard art historians Benjamin Buchloh and Barbara Novak, architect Peter S.
